Longish rides in the sun
So, yesterday was a nice spin, apart from some knee and ankle pain I’m suffering with after an over-ambitious strength training exercise involving balancing on a wobble board. Suffice to say, I won’t be doing that again.
Apart from a bit of discomfort though, it was very pleasant to spin up some endurance for a little under 4 hours in the sun. At this stage, I’m not going mental with the duration, instead focusing on the quality. In that ride, over 3 full hours were spent at Zone 2, which was the exact goal of that workout.
I’m now resting the foot and knee a bit to try and shift the problem. I’m racing my final XCO race of the year in a week’s time in Sittard, Holland. The course looks good in the videos and hopefully I’ll be able to produce a good performance before closing out the season.
Now time to get some RICE on the go and try and figure out what’s going on with these joints of mine…
