Packing for Holland
The final race of the season has almost arrived! How quickly this season seems to have flown by…
Today will be spent packing up for the trip down to Dover, across to Dunkirk and up to Sittard in Holland for the final Benelux Cup, which is a UCI Class 2 event.
Of course, I wish the knee was in better shape and I’m still not sure how it will hold up, but it has definitely taken a turn for the better in the last few days. Plenty of icing and NSAIDs seem to have done the trick, as has time off the bike.
I’m excited to be back on the full suspension with my custom Merida 96 Team. It looks like it should suit the course, and I’m really happy with how the bike built up. I made sure that everything was just right and I’m looking forward to a spin on the road with it later to check everything’s running smoothly.
I’m planning a big photo guide to the bike, which I’ll post once I’m back from the Netherlands.
The rest of the day will be spent having a call with Colin about the next season of the MountainBikesApart podcast, which I’m really looking forward to and travelling home ready for an early start tomorrow.
I’ll keep you fully abreast of our journey and the race weekend.
Until then, happy riding.
